I arrived late to the show due to a play I was attending running late. I, unfortunately, missed all of montell2099’s set, so if anyone has pictures or videos of his set I can use, please send my way!
I did arrive in time to catch the last half of StayLoose. StayLoose was a nice change of pace to a lot of electronic shows I attend. Boasting his newly released album, “Bad Star”, he played guitar along with his tracks as well as sung/rapped a few. The visuals accompanying the music were focused, heavily relying on Anime, with a spacey, dreamy bend. He ended with a few emotional, heavy-hitting anthems, including a nice Porter Robinson remix.
Next up was Quix.
Quix quickly brought the energy up with his hard hitting drops and melodic intricacies. Quix brought professionalism and polish. His visuals included himself in different situations, walking through the forest banging on drums, headbanging in the rain, all of which could have easily seemed cheesy, proved to be the opposite. You will see in the video of his performance, the variety Quix brought to the table. He played a bunch of styles, some of which include trap, dubstep, and a little bit of house to please the itch of all in attendance. I had a great time especially because of the venue size, it is always fun to see artists like Quix in a small venue. I recommend seeing him if you are looking for a night to just enjoy some music with heavy bass and hard hitting drops. Quix was welcoming and entertaining, keeping a focus and style unique to himself.
