With a freshly released EP ▶ and an ear for bass-driven tech house, John Summit arrived to play here in Denver at Bar Standard. Dendritic opened the night up with a mix of hard-hitting house music that got people dancing and feeling good. Theo Charles took the stage next and continued with the dance-able vibes. Charles has an ear for the perfect tracks to play, he read the room and was the perfect precursor to John Summit. His mix progressed smoothly and he gave us what we all came for, 4 to the floor house music carefully pieced together that is hard not to dance to.
Finally, John Summit began to play. With releases on labels such as Toolroom, Dirtybird, and Solotoko, Summit holds his own and proved it. He's got an ear for a groove and an ability to keep the crowd moving with a heavy tech house mix. Each song Summit played was a treat, leaving you guessing where he would take us next. Don't be surprised if you see him playing alongside names such as Chris Lake, Shiba San, and Sonny Fodera in the coming year. The future looks bright for John Summit and I'm excited to hear whatever music he releases next.
