Last Sunday I went to Mission Ballroom to see the Dom Dolla & Sonny Fodera Tour. Freddy Rule opened up the night. I’ve had the chance to see him a few times now and it’s always a treat. Rule brings heavy bass house vibes to his sets as he sprinkles in some of his own music throughout. He is full of energy and plays an extremely dance-able combination of songs. This was his first of surely many more times to play at Mission Ballroom.
Cassian was next up. I hadn’t heard him before hearing of the show so I checked out some of his tunes and I’ve got to say I was pretty excited, especially after hearing Know U Well (Shoutout to Shiloh) and his remix of Yotto’s Nova. Cassian’s set was refreshing and intriguing. The vibe he built from start to finish was inspiring and he was just the right fit to introduce Dom Dolla and Sonny Fodera. I’m stoked to see him next time he plays in Denver, I suggest you do the same.
Finally, we had the headliners, Dom Dolla and Sonny Fodera. Before they ended the night with an epic B2B, they each played their own sets and each played to their strengths. If you’ve got a chance to see this tour, I suggest you go. It was a great night to just let loose and dance along with the beat. Dolla and Fodera both have a high-quality mix of select tunes that give you a certain feeling and make you want to move. Some of the music they played included Dom Dolla's hit songs San Frandisco and Take It followed by Sonny’s ability to bring the house music with his memorable baselines and hypnotizing vocals with songs like Vibrate and Scratch My Back.
